Javier Ayala is a former player and coach at UC Berkeley, bringing over 20 years of professional playing and coaching experience to the field. As the Founder and Academy Director of Bay Area Soccer Academy, Javier has worked at every level of the game, from youth players to professional athletes.
Between 2013 and 2016, Javier served as the Camp Director for UC Berkeley Soccer Camps, overseeing over 800 players each summer. This wealth of experience has shaped his ability to create an engaging, structured, and player-focused environment that fosters both skill development and a love for the game. Javier’s unique perspective as a coach and former professional player allows him to deliver a camp experience that is both high-level and approachable for young players.
Skill-Based Training: Focus on technical drills, ball control, passing, and shooting.
Soccer Games: Fun, small-sided games to apply learned skills.
Scrimmages: Competitive but fun small sided games before lunchtime.
A one-hour break where kids can relax, recharge, and socialize with friends in a shaded area.
Creative Play: Activities include trading soccer cards, sand play, and arts and crafts for younger players
Multi-Sport Activities: Kickball, capture the flag, or even fun games like tag to switch gears and keep things fresh.
Shooting Games & Scrimmages: End the day with high-energy, enjoyable soccer activities.
Each session emphasizes dribbling, passing, shooting, and tactical awareness to equip players with essential tools.
We prioritize building confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment of the sport for all ages and skill levels.
Our experienced team includes former professionals, collegiate players, and Bay Area Soccer Academy trainers, all passionate about inspiring the next generation.
Soccer cleats, shin guards, a water bottle, snacks, and sunscreen. Full-day participants should bring lunch.
Extras: We will provide water stations for players to refill their bottles. Snacks will also be available for purchase in case players run out.
We will manage the heat by providing plenty of water breaks and ensuring players are hydrated throughout the day. Players will have access to shaded rest areas, and activities may be adjusted to reduce exposure during peak heat hours.
Yes, you can cancel, but there is a $60 non-refundable fee. You can also roll your camp fee over to future camps or clinics that we offer throughout the year.

Our coach-to-player ratio ranges between 1:8 to 1:10, depending on the group size.
